Energy QC Manager - Tucson

Purpose of the Position |
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of a diverse range of complex turnkey projects and services in a team-oriented environment. As part of Varitec Controls and Service Solutions team, our expectations are that you will be a team player placing our internal/external customers first. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of a project, from initiation to closure, while managing resources, communicating with stakeholders, and resolving issues that may arise.

Essential Functions |
- Represent the company by serving as our direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by listening to concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers on resolutions.
- Communicate with building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff.
- Understanding contract clauses, knowledge and risk mitigation of construction contract content language, validating project scope / cost / schedule, managing project compliance, project documentation, project safety guidelines, development and maintenance on project schedules, participating in pre-bid validation meetings, holding internal meetings, and establishing customer expectations.
- Identify potential energy efficiency projects and conduct site assessments to determine feasibility and potential savings
- Assist to develop and present project proposals to clients, including cost-benefit analyses and implementation plans
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and contractors to design and implement energy-efficient solutions
- Negotiate, hire and manage contractors or subcontractors with sales while working with clients to determine project scope and savings with vendors
- Ensure projects meet energy and environmental regulations, and obtain necessary permits and certifications
- Monitor and evaluate project performance, and implement measures to optimize energy savings
- Managing project budgets, project schedules, and delivering to scopes, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Assist with the accuracy of forecasted cost at completion and expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
- Assist with project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
- Maintaining accurate project cost forecasting with justifiable billings to drive positive revenue and cash collection results.
- Establish and create construction schedules used to drive the project through Gantt charts or any other tool to organize and represent potential project schedule. Includes creating and maintaining project schedules, generating tasks, dependencies, milestones, critical path, ability to identify future looking planning needs and resource constraints.
- Review contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
- Validate/descope subcontractor’s proposals; supervise the work of an assigned project team and subcontractors.
- Prepare and set up sub-contractor agreements by including scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; bonding requirements; and billing schedule of values.
- Review project plans and specifications, review project progress and prioritize tasks.
- Work with contractors and owners to validate scope of projects, and proper close-out.
- Support the sales team by assisting with quote preparation and proposals.
- Follow and manage processes and procedures in a timely manner; Example: Procore, Email, Teams, Project Folder Management, labor logs and personal expense submission.

Competency and Experience |
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per VCSS’s vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.
- Ability to use Windows applications primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions and construction project documents as they apply to aforementioned duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to make judgments after analysis of available information and respond with a timely decision.
- Ability to plan work and sequence priorities.
- Ability to speak articulately one-on-one or to small groups.
- Ability to compose articulate and grammatically correct written communication.
- Ability to perform under difficult conditions, such as simultaneous deadlines.
- Ability to handle conflict.

Supervisory Responsibilities |
- This position does not have any direct supervisor responsibilities of other employees.
|
Education and Certification |
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
- Must have or be willing to obtain OSHA safety training, along with managing a safe workforce and safety policies.

Work Environment |
- This position may require working in extremely hot or cold weather conditions. Furthermore, there may be noisy or potentially hazardous conditions that require the use of PPE.
- There will be significant and daily local travel to customer sites to perform the duties of this position. In addition, occasional overnight travel may be required for distant customer sites. Also, from time to time, overnight travel may be required for training at various manufacturers, generally lasting anywhere from 2 to 5 days.

Physical Demands |
- Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
- Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
- Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
- Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.
- Be able to drive for extended periods of time.
